What you're agreeing to when you use Claxon.

1. What you're agreeing to

By downloading, installing, or using Claxon (the Mac app, the Android app, or the website at getclaxon.app), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software. Simple as that.

Claxon is operated by the team behind getclaxon.app ("we," "us," "our"). These terms apply to all users.

2. What Claxon is

Claxon mirrors notifications from your Android phone to your Mac over your local Wi-Fi network. It also supports features like quick reply, call alerts, screenshot relay, and find-my-phone. The service runs entirely on your devices with no cloud relay or middleman server.

3. License to use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Claxon for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these terms. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the software. You may not redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lease the software to any third party.

4. Free trial

The Mac app includes a 7-day free trial starting from the date of first launch. During the trial you get access to all features with no restrictions. When the trial ends, you'll need a valid license key to continue using the app. No credit card is required to start the trial.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Licenses are sold through LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. LemonSqueezy handles all billing, payment processing, tax collection, and invoicing. When you purchase a license, you're entering into a transaction processed by LemonSqueezy under their terms of service.

We offer three plans: Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime. Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through the LemonSqueezy customer portal or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.

Lifetime licenses are a one-time purchase and do not expire or renew.

6. Refunds

If you're not happy with Claxon, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll issue a full refund, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Refund requests can be sent to support@getclaxon.app.

7. Your responsibilities

You're responsible for keeping your license key secure. Each license is tied to one Mac at a time. If you need to move your license to a different Mac, deactivate it on the old one first (or email us and we'll sort it out).

You agree not to use Claxon for anything illegal, to abuse or overload the software, or to attempt to circumvent the licensing system.

8. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Claxon does not collect, store, or transmit your notification data to any server. Everything stays on your local network. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Availability and updates

We'll do our best to keep Claxon working well, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. Android updates, macOS updates, and network configuration changes can all affect functionality. We release updates as needed and recommend keeping both apps up to date.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the software at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll honor any remaining subscription periods and Lifetime licenses will receive a final standalone build where feasible.

10. Intellectual property

Claxon, including its name, logo, code, and design, is our intellectual property. These terms don't transfer any ownership to you. The license granted in Section 3 is a right to use the software, not a sale of it.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Claxon is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the software will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of Claxon. Our total liability for any claim related to the software is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you violate these terms. You can stop using Claxon at any time by uninstalling the apps and cancelling any active subscription. Sections 10 through 12 survive termination.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Claxon after a change means you accept the new terms. For significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, through the Mac app or by email if we have your address through LemonSqueezy).

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Florida.
